Set Your Collection Apart With 1867 2¢ Jackson on Cover
This is your chance to own a piece of postal history few collectors ever see. – US #93 on cover. This 2¢ Jackson stamp would have covered the rate for the letter to be delivered within the city it was mailed.
Issued as part of the Series of 1867, the 2¢ stamp features the same oversized Andrew Jackson portrait as the popular “Black Jack” issue. It was embossed with an “F” grill, which was added to discourage the reuse of stamps.
When this cover was mailed, local delivery service was fairly new. Before 1863, people had to go to the post office to get their mail. Because of an act of Congress, free delivery services began in some cities. For the first time, street addresses were added to letters. The cover reflects the advancement of services by the US Post Office.
This cover will set your collection apart from others. It is the perfect companion for stamp #93 and a neat piece of postal history. We only have a few on hand, so order yours right away.
