About the American Innovation $1 Coin Series

The American Innovation $1 Coin series is a multi-year tribute to the groundbreaking innovations that have shaped our nation. This program honors innovators from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the five US territories – Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

From 2019 through 2032, four new coins are released each year, in the order that states ratified the Constitution or were admitted to the Union. Each coin features a distinctive reverse design representing a major innovation or innovator from that state or territory, while the obverse side showcases a dramatic image of the Statue of Liberty, along with the inscriptions “$1” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
