UN114-15 – 1963 Science & Technology

This stamp was issued in 1962 in honor of the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.  The committee was created by the General Assembly in 1959.  The General Assembly declared that outer space should benefit all people, and no nation could claim any of it.  In 1967, over 90 countries signed a treaty reflecting these aims.
