The stained-glass window at U.N. headquarters was designed by Marc Chagall and donated by the members of the Secretariat in memory of Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold and fifteen others who lost their lives in a plane crash in Ndola, Africa, on September 17, 1961.  This issue begins the Art at the U.N. Series.
