UN216-17 – 1971 Support Refugees

The United Nations aids refugees by protecting their legal rights, providing food and shelter, and finding them new homes.  In 1951, the General Assembly set up the office of the U.N. High Commission for Refugees.  This agency has assisted refugees from many countries.
