UN258-59 – 1975 International Women’s Year

1975 was proclaimed as “International Women’s Year” by the U.N. General Assembly.  It was dedicated to promoting equality between men and women.  The United Nations recognizes the importance of women’s contributions to the development of cooperation among states and the strengthening of peace.
