UN49-50 – 1957 Meteorological Organization

The World Meteorological Organization (W.M.O.) is part of the U.N. and was founded in 1950.  Its purpose is to improve weather observation and to adopt common standards for weather reporting.  It helps developing countries set up or improve their meteorological services.  Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.
