UN75-76 – 1959 World Refugee Year

This issue of stamps features the emblem adopted by the U.N. for World Refugee Year of 1959 to 1960.  The hands held protectively over the figure of a refugee symbolize the U.N.’s continuing effort to aid the refugees of the world.
